Matthew E. Algate, CPA Matt's experience as auditor, trainer, programmer, controller, I/T director, consultant, and personnel director combined with his degrees in psychology, accounting and business administration add up to one unusual perspective. His passion to effect REAL change at his clients spurs him to be a determined student of each industry, organization, function, and individual - listening carefully to every individual he comes in contact with. "I value each person that I meet - at one level, because I want the complete picture and need to understand the context of the issues. I know that the biggest challenge for most organizations is not systems or procedures, but unmotivated and underperforming staff. Yet at a much deeper level, I believe every individual I meet has a perspective that I cannot get no matter how much I research - I need them and not just their 'data'." This value of each individual does not mean that Matt is confused about organizational performance: "Each organization has a purpose. Every staff-position and every activity needs to be aligned with that purpose." What Matt really thrives on is working directly with executives in identifying the key performance indicators of their organizations, focusing on the strategically significant opportunities, preparing and implementing a practical plan, and seeing the solution to its' conclusion. "When an organization is truly stronger - identifying and responding to industry trends, faster at pouncing on opportunities, immediately responding to customers, vendors, and shareholders - with a bulldog view on profitability - I am thrilled! I couldn't imagine a better job than being a part of making that happen." His hobbies include: burning haystacks, frustrating people who insist on doing the unnecessary, and simplifying and speeding up what really ought to be done. He is the reigning North-American champion at the "You've Got To Be Kidding/Dumb Look" - while at the same time is a favorite guest at his clients - combining that zeal for improving the organization with a sincere patience and care for the people throughout an organization in transition. "Humor is one of the most important tools I have when it comes to helping organizations cut the clutter out of their established processes and take a new look at their strategy."
