Rapid Results, LLC - Decision Algorithm - Example The objective: Improve standardized test scores of students. The environment: Schools were struggling to maintain acceptable pass-levels on the Indiana ISTEP exams. The State Of Indiana required every school form a School Improvement Committee and submit a plan which would provide a strategy for improving test scores. Committee was formed consisting of Administration, Faculty, Parents, and local business leaders. Early discussion was unfocused and confusing: comments and goals were scattered across every spectrum – every idea seemed to have some merit yet often conflicted with earlier statements. Tremendous time was consumed lamenting elements which were beyond the control of the local schools. The Process: Facilitator provided instruction, discussion coordination, and template (picture) to focus efforts on productive, incremental steps toward a strategy.
